alternative to making a wish within the minute of 11:11, you must kiss all the clocks in the house before making your wish [though i've only heard this from one person, thought it was charming]

wish when you blow out the candles on your birthday cake [but you can't tell anyone, or it won't come true!]

when you find one of your eyelashes has fallen out, blow it from your finger and make a wish

if you find a dandelion that has turned to 'puff', blow the seeds away and make a wish.

addendum to the above is that you must be sure all the seeds are off the stem before you can make a wish. I've heard it said too that you can only wish if you blow them all out in one go.

when, as a passenger in a car or bus, you find the vehicle drives over a set of train tracks, you can lift your legs from the floor and, keeping them raised the whole time you are crossing the tracks, make a wish.
